Call for Papers: Special Issue on Information Design and Inclusion
Information design plays an essential role in helping users effectively access, understand, and use information to meet their needs and achieve their goals. Recognizing that users have diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds, inclusive information design systems are essential for creating effective communication. Inclusive design ensures users can access the information, feel represented and connected, comprehend the content, and take appropriate actions.
This special issue brings together interdisciplinary contributions that focus primarily on inclusion in information design, addressing theoretical, methodological, and applied perspectives. We invite original research articles, case studies, design frameworks, relevant reviews, interviews, and critical reflections that advance understanding and practice in inclusive information design.
Suitable topics include, but are not limited to:
- Information design and disabilities
- Cognitive needs in information design systems
- Neurodiversity and information design
- Information design systems for aging users
- Inclusion and accessibility frameworks for information design
- Assistive technologies for information systems
- Accessible information design systems

Submission instructions
Authors are invited to submit full manuscripts in accordance with the InfoDesign guidelines.
All manuscripts must be submitted via InfoDesign submission system.
Publication schedule
Deadline for submission: April 30th, 2026
Expected date of publication: Early December 2026
